The reporter learned from the National Standards Committee today that the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) recently announced the list of winners for the 2024 "IEC 1906 Award", with 228 outstanding international standardization experts from 25 countries receiving the award. Among them, 32 experts in the fields of electrical transportation equipment, smart cities, and power supply systems in China have won awards, ranking second only to Germany in terms of the number of winners.

“The IEC 1906 Award” is one of the most important awards of the IEC, established in 2004 to commemorate its founding in 1906. Once a year, experts from various countries who have made outstanding contributions to IEC international electrical standardization are nominated by the chairpersons and secretaries of IEC technical committees, reviewed by the IEC Secretariat, and awarded. As of now, a total of 233 experts in China have won this award.

For a long time, the winners of the IEC 1906 Award have mainly come from countries such as Germany, Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. With the continuous expansion of China's registered expert team and the increasing number of international standards developed and published, the pragmatic promotion of international standardization work continues to break through, and the international community's recognition of Chinese experts continues to increase. In 2024, the number of award-winning experts in China will reach a new historical high.
