WESF plays a role in promoting standardization and eliminating global trade barriers.
On March 4th, 2025, the Myanmar Engineering Council proudly hosted the World Engineering Day 2025 Celebration at the Function Hall in Yangon. The event was held under the global theme “Shaping Our Sustainable Future Through Engineering” and brought together engineering professionals, industry leaders, educators, and young innovators to celebrate the role of engineering in creating a better and more sustainable world.
The event was joined by representatives from government and industry, with discussions on how engineering supports sustainable development.
The celebration began with a warm Registration and Networking session, where attendees had the chance to meet, connect, and enjoy light refreshments in a friendly environment.
Opening Remarks by Prof. Dr. Aung Kyaw Myat, President of Myanmar Engineering Council
Following that, the event officially opened with welcoming remarks from the Prof. Dr. Aung Kyaw Myat, President of the Myanmar Engineering Council. In his speech, he highlighted how engineering can provide innovative solutions to the world’s biggest challenges and help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A special video message from WFEO President-Elect Er. Tan Seng Chuan (available in this page) was received and he acknowledged the contributions to the global engineering community and encouraged further international collaboration in advancing sustainable development.
