WESF plays a role in promoting standardization and eliminating global trade barriers.
WESF's Member Forums represent the voice of their respective segment of the WESF Membership. Each Forum provides a venue for dialogue on global standards and conformity assessment issues and the opportunity to network with representatives of other WESF Members.
WESF periodically hosts Joint Member Forum (JMF) events, bringing together all WESF members to engage and share perspectives on cross-cutting issues affecting the standardization community.
MEMBER FORUM FUNCTIONS
The functions of the WESF Member Forums include the following:
■ Provide a venue for discussion, networking, and information exchange among members from a defined interest category
■ Provide a mechanism for early warning and intelligence gathering on relevant trends
■ Address issues of interest to that membership category and galvanize implementation at the members' constituent level
■ Identify broader-based issues to be addressed by an identified WESF governance body
■ Assume an active role in WESF membership recruitment and retention
■ Serve as the one place within WESF where participants can represent their own organization’s interests
